Squeaky Wheel is preparing to roll out its third biennial Excellent Adventure social media scavenger hunt on Saturday, September 24, 2022. This is the scavenger hunt that appeals to artists, Buffalo lovers, history buffs, and anyone looking to have some serious fun.

The friendly competition encourages media literacy and cultural awareness, but it also relies upon teamwork to get the tasks completed. The stronger the team, the better chance of winning. Teams are offered up a series of clues, which they must then solve over the course of four hours. The team that solves the most clues is deemed the winner. But there’s a lot more going on than simply competing. This is a scavenger hunt that everyone wins.

In order to participate (from anywhere, really), team members must have access to a phone or a computer, in order to post their findings and discoveries to Instagram with the hashtag #squeakyadventure.

“We want you to share your stories and your histories, your imagination, your talents, your inner comic, or your favorite doughnut shop. All you need is an internet connection, a smart phone, and a few hours of fun. Take us on an Excellent Adventure!” – Squeaky Wheel

“The Squeaky Wheel Excellent Adventure was a great opportunity to get outdoors, be creative, and see lots of Buffalo sights that I don’t often take the time to notice,” said Sarah Wooton, 2020 participant, Team Inspector Catjets. “My friends and I had a lovely afternoon of competitive fun and learned some new ways to use digital media!”
